The How to Read a Skincare Ingredient Label class is designed to help beginners develop the knowledge and confidence to understand skincare product labels, identify common ingredients, interpret ingredient lists, and make more informed decisions when selecting skincare products. Students will explore how ingredients are listed, what common ingredient categories do, and how to recognize important label information, including active ingredients, moisturizing agents, preservatives, fragrances, and potential irritants.
This class is divided into two learning sections that combine instructor-led education with independent online coursework.
Part 1: Live Virtual Stream Session — 1 Hour
Students will participate in a one-hour live virtual session focused on the foundational theory of skincare ingredient labels. The instructor will explain essential concepts, provide examples of common skincare ingredients, and answer student questions during a dedicated Q&A session.
Part 2: Online Learning Session — 4 Course Modules
Students will log into their Peach Academy student accounts to access and complete four online course modules. These modules expand on the concepts introduced during the live session, allowing students to study ingredient terminology, label structure, product formulation basics, and responsible skincare product selection at their own pace.
By completing both sections, students will gain a stronger foundation for reading skincare labels, comparing products, and understanding the information manufacturers provide to consumers.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
School Notes: For live in person classes - student are responsible for bringing their practice kits. We will send out kit list via email of requirements with recommendation where they can purchase supplies.
