Aerial rope, also known as corde lisse, is one of the purest of the aerial arts, challenging in its very simplicity. This class is for the strong beginning aerial student or the more experienced aerialist looking to challenge themselves on a new dynamic apparatus. Students will learn basic skills, climbs, inversions, and beat techniques.
Prerequisites: No previous rope experience required.
Students must have a clear understanding of hollow body and shoulder engagement, and understand basic terms: pike, straddle, tuck, point, and flex. Students must be able to climb to the top of the rope and straddle invert from the ground without jumping.
Note: No black soled or rubber sole shoes. Shoes allowed on the dance floor are jazz shoes, practice sneakers, social shoes with leather soles, or suede. Socks are ok. Absolutely no scuffing shoes.
Be early, latercomer may not be allowed in class.
Video recording device, (phone) are allowed at the end of the class. Please keep off during the class.
