Acting for Adults

The Actors Circle provides an ongoing, comprehensive curriculum specifically designed to develop and strengthen the skills that actors need for genuine success in the professional film and television industry. Our thoughtfully structured program focuses on five key areas of performance and professional development, each integral to establishing a solid foundation for becoming a competent, versatile, and marketable actor.

What You'll Learn in Our Acting Curriculum:

• Scene Study and Character Interpretation: This core module focuses deeply on understanding how to approach and perform scenes with authenticity, learning advanced techniques for discovering genuine emotional depth within your character, and developing the ability to connect meaningfully with your character's subtext, motivation, and backstory.
• Cold Reading and Script Analysis: You will develop professional-level ability to perform scenes and deliver monologues with minimal preparation time, concentrating on trusting your instincts, making quick interpretive choices, and applying improvisation skills to bring fresh energy to new material.
• Audition Interview Technique and Casting Preparation: Learn proven strategies for handling high-pressure auditions successfully, managing audition anxiety and nervousness, establishing confident eye contact with casting directors, and developing a strong personal presence and energy that stands out in the casting room.
• Improvisation and Spontaneous Performance: Strengthen your remarkable ability to think quickly on your feet, stay fully in character even when unexpected situations arise, listen actively to scene partners, and respond truthfully in the moment. Improvisation training also develops your skills in creating detailed character backstories and accessing genuine emotional spontaneity in your performances.
• Character Development and Multi-Dimensional Acting: Dive deeply into the nuanced process of developing complex, multi-dimensional characters. You will explore whether to draw from your own personality and experiences or create characters that represent a significant departure from your authentic self, understanding both approaches.
