Description

Learn step by step techniques to make beautiful jewelry designs with wires over "semi-precious" beads. Participants will learn to attach beads with solderless wire linking techniques to make earrings, bracelets and necklaces. 

Class will also cover how to make your jump rings, spacers, charms and clasps with a particular design. Wire wrapping is a hobby that can easily be used for profit. 

Required Materials: Please bring round nose pliers, flat nose pliers & wire cutters. 

Location notes:
  • Room numbers are provided to students once the registration is completed.
  • Students can purchase a semester parking permit from the Community Services Office for $10 or purchase a daily permit from the dispensing machines at each parking lot/structure for $2.

Refund Policy

There are no refunds or transfers after a class begins. Requests to withdraw from a class or transfer to another Community Services class must be done 5 OR MORE DAYS prior to the first class meeting. There is a $15 service charge per class for each refund or transfer requested. If you enrolled in a class less than 5 days prior to the first class meeting, NO refunds will be given. There are no refunds or credits for absences and late registrations are not pro-rated. Missed class meetings may not be made up in another class.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

    The instructor was forgetful and confused. She could not remember the names of basic tools and struggled to explain what she was doing during demonstrations. Her materials were a mess and she did not have the needed items for some of the projects. She was otherwise generally pleasant and polite.

    Rosy is a very experienced in wire wrapping, with examples to share and many great ideas. It was unfortunate that we were a larger group of 9 participants in Sunday's class, as her directions rely on *showing* the students what she is doing, rather than clearly describing the actions to be taken. So if you are not able to see exactly what/how she is doing (and wire wrapping is quite precise!), it's easy to fall behind or become a bit lost. With our size class, half the class really couldn't see as she was initially doing the demonstrations - so everything took longer and we ended up running out of time. Handouts to refer to and more precise instructions would have been helpful.
